Explore the local rainfall and temperature departures in the saved October 2026 CFSv2 scenario. Zoom in, then select a forest grid cell to see its exposure and estimated NPP response.

Forest colors are visually interpolated between available neighboring grid cells and gently blended to white at footprint edges. This edge blending is cosmetic; it does not add forest observations or forecasts. White land pixels have no displayed forest estimate (or are outside the selected biome); they are not a fine-resolution non-forest mask. Clicks always report original grid-cell estimates. Zooming does not increase forecast resolution. Precipitation includes rain and snow water equivalent.
Apply a one-year climate departure around a cell’s historical climate mean. The fitted model includes rainfall, temperature, their quadratic terms and their interaction at each lag. Biome summaries average the local relationships over modeled forest area.
Click the heatmap to change both climate inputs. Color shows NPP change as a percentage of historical mean annual NPP.
Climate returns to its historical mean after year 0. This is a fitted sensitivity experiment, not the 2026–2027 weather forecast. Curves show point estimates; no uncertainty band is implied.
